It’s a me! Mario on your sneakers! I’m just gonna leave this here. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Converse One Star J sneaker model, Converse is teaming up with Nintendo to create two snazzy limited edition leather One Star J designs that feature Mario & Bowser from the original Super Mario Bros. Check out the awesome pics below! Slated to release this week in Japan only, best wishes trying to get your hands on these!

old_gamesCastlevania II: Simon’s Quest and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link are amazing experiences if you played them when they first came out. Both are a vast change from the first entry in the series, however they offer a larger scale of exploration and discovery that helped innovate and realize things that would eventually define each franchise’s roots. Now that might sound odd as if they were amazing, why did they go back to the OLD style of Castlevania/Zelda then? Great point. I believe growth is finding out the difference & realizing what works best for you. Instead of going with the ‘popular opinion’ of how these games are shit or such a disconnect from the series as a whole, please keep in mind these were both the SECOND entry in a long series of titles that helped make each respective franchise iconic/recognizable. This is just my opinion, it may not be the popular one… but I’m glad I got to play both of these games in an era before their series’ were defined. Aside, I also regard both Zelda II and Castlevania II to have some of my favorite music tracks from the series (Zelda II palace theme & Bloody Tears). Did I really write a short rant about old ass video games? lol.

SLAM_DUNK_AJ6_001If you’ve been following sneaker news, you might have heard that a few months ago Jordan Brand was putting together something special for Slam Dunk fans! Takehiko Inoue’s classic ’90s basketball manga/anime was a cultural phenomenon for Japan. Much like what Eyeshield 21 did for American Football in Japan, Slam Dunk did the same for professional basketball. Basketball culture and everything that went along with it, was (and still is) in full swing all over Japan. Sneaker culture in particular made a big impression amongst fans of the show. playstation_prime_01Gaming fans probably took notice of of the SEGA Mega Drive Megatron Transformer that Takara Tomy is releasing in October. Autobot fanboys were probably up in arms about the lack of gaming representation on their end… However just not too long ago, Takara Tomy announced and released concept art for their forthcoming Sony PlayStation Optimus Prime (which REALLY got me excited)…

If you’ve been following the site or my social media, you’ll know I am a big fan of the PlayStation brand. Everything from the games and hardware, to lifestyle things such as PlayStation sneakers, etc. I just love the brand that I grew up with. So when I woke up early this morning…

Today, courtesy of Radio Kaikan we have our first actual photos of the work in progress Autobot leader, donning the classic PlayStation styling.

fave_manga_anime_girlsMy friend VampyBitMe challenged me to list/write about my favorite female manga & anime characters the other day. I thought long and hard about it and was surprised at how difficult it was for me to come up with a top ten. I couldn’t settle on just ten, actually I easily had 20-30 characters in mind, but I thought it was important to list the ones that really stuck out for me. In no specific order, check out my picks for best anime & manga gals! Click below for the full list…

DSC00447I don’t know what it is lately… I used to dread time passing by. The feeling of getting older and life going on. Recently though I’ve been feeling extremely happy and content with life as it happens. It is with great pleasure and thanks to my friends & those around me, that I am feeling as good as I am now.

There’s no real point to this post other than a small update showing that life is good and there is always something to look forward to. Keep happy an avoid situations and people that just suck your life dry. Take care everyone!

comic-con_panelI had a blast at this year’s Comic-Con International. I took the entire work week off from my Mad Catz duties and decided to focus on having a good con. It was a good move on my end as usually my July month is filled with stress and planning for a number of events and shows. We just got back from EVO 2014 a few weeks ago so going into Comic-Con I was a bit excited just to see some friends that I only usually see/hang out with once a year.

This year I hosted another panel for Bandai Namco Games. Working closely with the TEKKEN Project Team and big boss Katsuhiro Harada is always an honor… This year was focused entirely on their upcoming free-to-play PC title, Rise of Incarnates and the forthcoming TEKKEN 7. Here is a link to the panel, just in case you missed it!

Other than the above responsibilities… My Comic-Con is just pure enjoyment now. I don’t care about the panels, the exclusives or any of that as much as I care about pleasing my team, loved ones and those I care about more. Thanks for letting happy flow, Comic-Con!

Don’t let this post make you think I’ve lost my geeky touch though. I can get shit done at Comic-Con like no other! Until next year! 😀

On Sunday right before the main event finals, my friend and boss man, Katsuhiro Harada took the stage to make an amazing reveal. TEKKEN 7 was announced at EVO 2014! FIGHTSTICKSHi I’m MarkMan. Today I’m posting as a representative of Mad Catz. I’m aware of stick latency & PCB differences. This should be apparent and known that not every PCB that goes into a USB controller/product is the same nor is it made from the same factory/spec. There will be a variance depending on what solution is used. It’s up to the manufacturer to determine whether or not it is acceptable for consumer use. I’ve seen test results on Teyah.net (great research btw) and videos and postings in the past. Yes, some PCBs react slower (milliseconds) vs others. Is it detrimental to gameplay? At the tested ratings, no. If it was, we would make changes to improve the product, as we’ve done throughout the life cycle of said products. Additionally, we wouldn’t see the results (from tournaments) that we’ve seen over the past 5 years if it was a game changer. To some people, especially those not closely involved in the tech talk community, this might sound like an excuse or it may sound like us dismissing the data… But quite the contrary. We could just ignore it and keep selling and making products. We don’t work that way. We work for the community as they are the reason why we continue to do cool things and provide a product and service we can be proud of. Let’s see how many MCZ sticks win the gold during EVO weekend again. Be safe ya’ll! 🙂
